2.3 September 2009 SAP University Alliance held a conference for high schools in Russia and CIS countries.
Divnomorsk, a beautiful resort city located directly at the coast of the black sea, was chosen as the venue. Most participants were accommodated in the Spa Hotel “Blue Dal”, the place were also the conference took place, or in another hotel, just a short walking distance away.
The event was organized in close cooperation and with the support of the Southern Federal University – one of Russia’s leading universities. The SAP conference was the first conference in a series of the International Congress on Intelligent Systems and Information Technology.
The Vice-rector from the Taganrog Technological Institute of the Southern Federal University, the honored Scientist of Russia, Professor Kureichyk opend the congress. On behalf of SAP, the Vice-president of the SAP University Alliance, Professor Bob LoBue also gave a short speech. He pointed out the main stages of the future development of SAP and the IB technologies in general. The plenary session was also attended by: The director of the SAP University Alliance Program for Russia, Eastern Europe and the Nordics, Mr. Victor Taratoukhine; the head of the SAP Academic Competence Center in Russia and CIS (UCC SAP) Nikita Golovin; the director of the SAP University Competence Center for EMEA (SAP UCC) Stefan Weidner; and the representatives of the companies of Nokia and Microsoft, as well as customers and partners of SAP.
The first meeting of the members was held during the early evening on 2 September, at the terrace of the art-café “Lazur”, which was arranged as a Welcome Party. After a short and warm welcome by the organizers, the evening was used for informal communicating and networking.Besides this, on the 2nd of September, there was at Vityaz the School for young Scientists.
3 September – the actual day of the conference was divided into two parts. In the first half of the meeting several presentations were given from different universities. After lunch there were three different workshops offered:
A roundtable discussion about the “Innovations in Teaching solutions of SAP”, conducted by Mr. Oleg Zhilkin from the “Peoples Friendship University of Russia” addressing the issues related to the teaching of SAP.
A roundtable discussion “The interaction of the university community with the industry”, directed by the director of the SAP ACC, Mr. Nikita Golovin. Representatives of industrial companies and universities discussed possible ways of cooperation.
A Workshop on demonstrating solutions of SAP Business Objects. This was led by a Professor of the SAP ACC Russia and CIS, Mr. Anton Ambrazhey.
